The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority’s Board of Directors has selected Carey O’Donnell Public Relations Group for its public relations and marketing services, effective May 12, 2009. The firm, which is headquartered in Downtown West Palm Beach and has a second office in New York City, has been issued a three-year contract, its third contract with the agency since 1999 when it was selected to handle public relations for an extensive economic development program cooperatively funded by the City of West Palm Beach, the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches and the Downtown Development Authority.
The DDA issued a Request For Proposal No. 2009-01 on March 3 to South Florida public relations, marketing and advertising firms. Four agencies responded and two were chosen by a special selection committee to present their credentials and ideas for the Clematis District at the DDA Board of Directors May 12 meeting.
The DDA currently has a contract with Carey O’Donnell PR Group that began in May, 2006 and concludes September 30, 2009. The new contract will take effect the next day. The firm, one of Florida’s largest independent PR agencies with clients around the country, was unanimously selected by the DDA Board to serve as its PR Agency of Record. The program of work will continue with many new applications, focused on strategic local, regional and national media outreach efforts; consumer and investor-driven advertising campaigns; extensive retail and restaurant promotions; marketing initiatives; application of new technologies and more.
The agency team assigned to the account includes five staff members and is headed by senior account manager Alyson Seligman.
