WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (September 25, 2008) --- CityPlace has announced that McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants will open a new location at the entrance to the retail and entertainment center in Downtown West Palm Beach. The new spacious restaurant is expected to welcome diners in fall 2009, and will occupy approximately 10,200 square feet in a high profile position on Okeechobee Blvd., next door to Ruth’s Chris Steak House. This will be McCormick & Schmick’s fourth location in Florida, joining Orlando and Boca Raton, as well as Naples, scheduled to open later this year.

“McCormick & Schmick’s has a national reputation for being one of the leading seafood restaurant operators in the affordable, upscale dining segment,” said CityPlace General Manager, Ryan Hallihan. “We feel this will be a great new addition to our restaurant and bar collection, which continues to be one of the property’s most powerful draws among every demographic sector.”

Since the early 1970s, McCormick & Schmick’s has grown to more than 85 restaurants across the country and in Canada, having opened the original McCormick & Schmick’s in 1979 in Portland, Ore. Over the past 36 years, they have focused on offering an extensive selection of fresh seafood. The restaurant’s signature "Fresh List," prominently displayed at the top of the daily-printed menu, contains 30 to 40 varieties of fresh seafood, based on daily product availability. The menu typically contains more than 80 made-to-order dishes, including an extensive selection of international, national, regional and local species of seafood, as well as a variety of aged steaks, poultry, entrée salads and pastas.

New shops and restaurants that have opened recently at CityPlace include Taverna Opa, Italian Oven Cafe, Bar Louie, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Panera Bread, Mamma Che Buono, Limited Too and Fresh Produce. Kona Grill and IceBerry are expected to open by October, and Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works will open in January 2009.
